Cameron Lockey
1988 Chevrolet S10
Cameron Lockey bought this '88 S10 from his uncle at the age of 15. He had originally planned to fix it up a bit and use it as a first vehicle to get through high school. He and his dad rebuilt the 4.3L V6 in the summer of 2005. Cameron began working at Truckers Toy Store part-time as a freshmen in college at Carteret Community College, and ideas for improving the look of his truck started cropping up.
"When you work at a truck accessories store, you can hardly avoid eventually getting something for your own truck, and mine was suitable to become a low-rider," says Cameron. The front bumper on his truck was actually customized by the Truckers Toy Store team. It uses fabricated mounting brackets that bolt directly to the frame so that the bumper sits nearly 2" closer to the truck than the original.
In addition to the accessories installed by Truckers Toy Store, Cameron's truck was painted by Robert Hunter of Newport, NC, and the custom interior upholstery was done by James James, also of Newport.
